The Woodlands community takes great pride in the area’s local schools! Schools for all grade levels are known for their high academic achievements and thriving extracurricular programs. On Saturday June 8, The Woodlands High School’s baseball team added another source of pride for The Woodlands community when they won the 5A State Baseball title!
Among a number of other recent athletic recognitions, this is The Woodland Highlanders third time to win the 5 A State Championship title in baseball. The team defeated the Fort Bend Dulles at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX where they fought after falling behind early to eventually win the game!
With an overall record of 38-4 this year, The Woodlands High School ranked among the top five baseball teams in the nation in most polls, including a 4th spot ranking by Collegiate Baseball and a 3rd spot by Baseball America. In addition, our neighboring community, Tomball, is also ranked as one of the top ten baseball programs in the nation, coming in at number 8 on the MaxPreps Xcellent 50 National Baseball Rankings.
As the area’s schools continue to gain recognition and awards, our community continues to celebrate their success! In honor of The Woodlands Highlanders victory, The Woodlands Township hosted a congratulatory event at Market Street on Tuesday June 11 at 6:00 PM. The event included a parade, a recognition ceremony and an autograph signing by the players! We look forward to celebrating the continued achievements from the exemplary schools throughout our community!
